Elliot Lake Standard building sold - My Algoma Manitoulin Now

SHARE ON: While the building housing the Elliot Lake Standard has been sold, the paper continues to operate. Managing editor Kevin McSheffrey says the buyer is Joe Issa from southern Ontario who wants to convert it into a used car dealership and auto body shop. Originally housing its own print press, mail and newsroom, the paper will now be produced out of town, but McSheffrey will continue to write for the publication owned by Post-Media out of his own home. While building has been sold, The Standard is still going strong in Elliot Lake, and has no intention of leaving the community. Article content After more than seven years on the real estate market in Elliot Lake, The Standard newspaper building located at 14 Hillside Drive South, has been sold. The buyer is Joe Issa, of southern Ontario. He hopes to covert the building into a used car dealership and an auto body shop.
