There were 20 additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the coronavirus death toll in Illinois to 20,536. While the statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is at 2.4 percent, the Southern Illinois Region had dropped to 1.7 percent. This week, around two million people between the ages of 60 and 63 will be invited to book an appointment and receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
