There were 20 additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the coronavirus death toll in Illinois to 20,536. While the statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is at 2.4 percent, the Southern Illinois Region had dropped to 1.7 percent. One measure would require onsite visits from state health officials as soon as practical : The House Energy and Environment Committee met virtually yesterday afternoon and began to look into creating a task force to look into carbon capture. A bill has been introduced to provide a report about the experimental practice by the end of the year and create an act to regulate carbon storage that would require a permit for the practice : and personal information, such as names and medical details, of nearly 9,000 Illinois families was sent by the state to the wrong mailing addresses in November and December last year. The Illinois Department of Central Management Services said last week it is working to ensure the error does not happen again.
