No one saw it coming. John Haney was a happy kid with a smile for miles. Loved by many, he was a leader on the high school and college football team, but fighting an inner battle alone. The thing I want you to know about john is he was kind and compassionate. Never knew a stranger, says John s mom, Beth Haney. In 2017, after graduating college and living in Columbus, John took his own life. And with it, he took a part of his parents hearts. His father, Rick, remembers one specific conversation he had with his son months before. ....

North Olmsted City School District announces a week of remote learning before returning to hybrid model Updated Dec 31, 2020; Facebook Share NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio Following a week of remote learning coming out of winter break, North Olmsted City Schools is planning a quick return to its hybrid model. “After looking at the COVID-related data at the state, county and local level, we decided it was in everybody’s best interest to extend our remote learning schedule through Jan. 8, with the intention of transitioning to our hybrid schedule on Jan. 11,” North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Michael E. Zalar said. “This allows us to use the first week of January as a buffer from any potential spread of COVID that might have been contracted during the holiday break,” he said. ....
