North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Michael E. Zalar delivered his virtual State of the Schools last week.
NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio Like seemingly every other public address this year, North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Michael E. Zalar delivered his State of the Schools virtually last week.
The nearly hour-long speech began with the superintendent thanking the board of education, district administration, teachers, staff and the community for efforts over the past year during the pandemic.
Among the highlights Zalar noted were the Re-Imagine School Committee developing the district’s Restart Plan, which went from remote to hybrid to most recently all-in instruction. ....

North Olmsted City School District announces a week of remote learning before returning to hybrid model

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio Following a week of remote learning coming out of winter break, North Olmsted City Schools is planning a quick return to its hybrid model.
“After looking at the COVID-related data at the state, county and local level, we decided it was in everybody’s best interest to extend our remote learning schedule through Jan. 8, with the intention of transitioning to our hybrid schedule on Jan. 11,” North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Michael E. Zalar said.
“This allows us to use the first week of January as a buffer from any potential spread of COVID that might have been contracted during the holiday break,” he said. ....
