Additionally, the Georgia Department of Revenue will close its motor vehicle application and tag and title system from January 13-18. The closer allows the completion of a technology upgrade to the Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System (DRIVES).
January 06, 2021 The Georgia Department of Revenue is shifting to a new system to process vehicle tags and titles. As a result, Fulton County tag offices will be shut down for all motor vehicle transactions from January 12 through January 19, 2021. Fulton County Tax Commissioner Arthur Ferdinand is asking that drivers with January renewals process these as early as possible and before the temporary shutdown. Online, in-person and kiosk transactions will be unavailable during that period.
Subscribe The new computer upgrades merge the state system that processes drivers license data with that handling tag and title information, says Fulton County Tax Commissioner Dr. Arthur Ferdinand. While ultimately this transition will help our office and the Division of Driver Services better serve our constituents, this move will be a temporary inconvenience for customers.
Due to a system upgrade, the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office and state Motor Vehicle Division offices will not be able to process transactions for about a week in mid-January.
The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) DRIVES (Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System) is upgrading to a new version of the system used by the local tag offices to register and title vehicles.
Vehicle registration, titling services, online services and tag renewal kiosks will be unavailable from Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 through Monday, Jan. 18, 2021 so the upgrade can be implemented.
During this time, law enforcement will still have access to motor vehicle records through a statewide backup file.
