The Georgia Department of Revenue is shifting to a new system to process vehicle tags and titles. As a result, Fulton County tag offices will be shut down for all motor vehicle transactions from January 12 through January 19, 2021. Fulton County Tax Commissioner Arthur Ferdinand is asking that drivers with January renewals process these as early as possible and before the temporary shutdown. Online, in-person and kiosk transactions will be unavailable during that period.

"The new computer upgrades merge the state system that processes drivers' license data with that handling tag and title information," says Fulton County Tax Commissioner Dr. Arthur Ferdinand. "While ultimately this transition will help our office and the Division of Driver Services better serve our constituents, this move will be a temporary inconvenience for customers."
