Panilongon Historic Marker unveiled in Dgte

DUMAGUETE CITY, May 5 (PIA) Another historical marker commemorating the Philippines’ contribution to the first circumnavigation of the world which took place 500 years ago was unveiled yesterday in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles together with National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Commissioner Dr. Earl Jude Cleope, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Usec. Atty. Marvin Gatpayat, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director-General Usec. Ramon Cualoping III, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-7) Regional Director Leocadio Trovela, and Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Remollo unveiled the Panilongon Historical Marker at Rizal Boulevard. PNP implements major revamp

SunStar April 05, 2021 THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday, April 5, 2021, implemented a major revamp due to the upcoming retirement of several senior officials from the service. PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Ildebrandi Usana said Major General Emmanuel Luis Licup, Directorate for Comptrollership (DC) head, was placed on a non-duty status and was transferred to the Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP) ahead of his retirement on Friday, April 9. Licup, a member of the Philippine Military Class of 1987, served as the regional director of Police Regional Office-Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and Police Regional Office 9 before he was designated as head of the Directorate for Operations and eventually as DC chief.

Cop shoots driver in Gen Trias, Cavite

(Jun Ryan Arañas / MANILA BULLETIN FILE PHOTO) The officer was identified as Police Chief Master Sergeant Homer Arcano Jr., assigned to the Directorates for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) in Western Mindanao. Meanwhile, the driver who is currently recovering from his injuries was identified as Romeo Saul, 37. Police said that the incident occurred along C.M Delos Reyes Ave. Barangay Biclatan, Gen. Trias City in Cavite. Investigation showed that Saul was onboard his car, while PCMS Homer Arcano was onboard his motorcycle with both of them heading toward Barangay Manggahan. According to investigators, Arcano noticed that Saul was driving in a wayward and reckless manner. At that moment, Arcano while driving behind Saul used his horn to call his attention.
