Since March, when the DOH began issuing daily updates on the spread and impact of COVID-19, Lake has reported 20,797 cases and officials in Sumter County have confirmed 6,777 cases.
The death raised the area death toll related to COVID-19 to 457, including 335 in Lake County and 122 in Sumter.
