A Stourbridge man has been ordered to undertake treatment for alcoholism and put on a curfew after being found guilty of assault. Kieran Ashley Russell, aged 29, of Collis Street, had denied the charge of beating Daniel Rumble. He was placed on a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and placed on a 7pm to 7am electronically tagged curfew for 12 weeks. He must also pay £600 in compensation and costs. Other recent cases at Dudley Magistrates Court included: A Rowley Regis man has been given a suspended jail sentence after admitting weapons charges. Daemon Maher, aged 36 of Harvest Road, pleaded guilty to ‘buying or acquiring a weapon that discharged electricity’, and having an extendable baton in St Giles Avenue. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay £313 in costs. Magistrates said the offences were serious, but the weapons were not used in dangerous circumstances. ....
A Dudley drink-driver who had cocaine in his possession has been ordered to pay £719 in fines and costs and banned from driving for 22 months. Rafal Kulasinski, aged 28, of Brewery Street, had 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was tested after driving his Chevrolet Cruze in Tipton. The limit is 35. Huntersville-Concord Road runs east-west; Asbury-Chapel Road runs north-south. The Oehler Nature Preserve, where the spill occurred, is in the middle of the map, just north of Huntersville-Concord Road. The largest gasoline spill in North Carolina history just got bigger. Colonial Pipeline has released new figures, estimating at least 1.2 million gallons of gasoline spilled from a broken pipe in Huntersville last summer, more than 17 times the original figure. The new numbers are included in a 1,600-page Comprehensive Site Report filed with the NC Department of Environmental Quality yesterday. ....
Burkitt Ridge will offer residences, stores, restaurants An entity affiliated with Nashville-based Regent Homes known for its Lenox Village development will break ground Thursday on Burkitt Ridge, a large-scale mixed-use project in South Davidson County. To be located not quite one mile east of the intersection of Burkitt and Nolensville roads, the development will offer 800 residential units including townhomes and single-family homes as well as restaurant and retail spaces, according to David McGowan, Regent Homes president. The first phase will include two 51-unit buildings and one eight-unit building, with a collective 220 residences, all one-bedroom and one-bedroom-flex-space. To carry a price tag of $32 million to $34 million, the buildings will offer elevator access for the units. McGowan will undertake the project via Burkitt Ridge Apartments LLC. Memphis-based Orion is providing financing. ....
