A Stourbridge man has been ordered to undertake treatment for alcoholism and put on a curfew after being found guilty of assault. Kieran Ashley Russell, aged 29, of Collis Street, had denied the charge of beating Daniel Rumble. He was placed on a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and placed on a 7pm to 7am electronically tagged curfew for 12 weeks. He must also pay £600 in compensation and costs. Other recent cases at Dudley Magistrates Court included: A Rowley Regis man has been given a suspended jail sentence after admitting weapons charges. Daemon Maher, aged 36 of Harvest Road, pleaded guilty to ‘buying or acquiring a weapon that discharged electricity’, and having an extendable baton in St Giles Avenue. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay £313 in costs. Magistrates said the offences were serious, but the weapons were not used in dangerous circumstances.
