PRATTVILLE Police in Prattville have charged a man with a dozen counts of cruelty to animals and dog fighting.
Titus Cortez Daniels, 36, was arrested Friday, Police Chief Mark Thompson said. The dozen dogs, most appearing to be American pit bull terriers, were found chained in a wooded area off Indian Hills Road. Daniels is being held in the Autauga Metro Jail under cash bonds totaling $97,000.
The total breaks down to $25,000 on the dog fighting charge and $6,000 each on the cruelty to animals charges.
Patrol officers answering an unrelated call in the area developed intelligence that led to a raid on the property. The area is in the city limits but is rural.
South Korean man faces child sex charges in Prattville
PRATTVILLE A South Korean man is facing eight felony child sex charges in Prattville.
Heojin Kim, 29, who is living in Montgomery, faces two counts of rape in the second degree, three counts of electronic solicitation of a child and three counts of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, said Police Chief Mark Thompson. He was arrested in Prattville about noon Tuesday.
Rape in the second degree generally involves an underage victim. In Alabama the age of consent is 16.
Thompson declined to release more information about the case, citing it s ongoing nature and the fact that it involves a juvenile.
