Family of George Floyd say they will be 'able to breathe once more if Derek Chauvin is convicted of his murder'

The family of George Floyd said they “will be able to breathe” if Derek Chauvin, the former officer who knelt on the unarmed black man for more than nine minutes, is convicted of his murder.
Speaking yesterday outside the Minneapolis courthouse where Mr Chauvin is on trial, the Floyd family described their anguish at having to “relive” Mr Floyd’s final moments during the proceedings.
“It causes them and many people to suffer PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder),” said Ben Crump, a lawyer representing the family.
Mr Crump said the televised trial, which entered its seventh day of testimony yesterday, had had a “psychological” toll on not just the family, but the global audience following remotely. ....

Jedward slam Simon Cowell and the X Factor in Twitter tirade

Irish popstars Jedward have called One Direction “survivors” in a series of tweets slamming The X Factor, Simon Cowell, and his music label Syco Entertainment.
The identical twins, whose real names are John and Edward Grimes, rose to fame in 2009 when they became fan favourites on The X Factor.
Now, they have spoken out about the alleged mistreatment they and other contestants suffered on the show, adding that artists like One Direction and Little Mix are unable to discuss any such incidents due to their contracts.
The 29-year-olds began a series of tweets last night by writing, “The biggest regret in life was not telling the judges on X Factor to f ck off!” ....

Sentencing of Kinahan Cartel mobster Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh delayed for at least another five months

Feared gangland boss Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh won’t be sentenced for at least another five months after massive delays caused by Covid-19 and due to a dispute over the basis of his plea.
His co-accused Daniel Canning and Gary Vickery remain on bail despite the seriousness of their offences and their guilty pleas to major drugs importation charges.
A Newton hearing was requested after the pleas which were made in July of 2020. It is to settle a dispute between the prosecution and defence over the amount of drugs and money laundering involved.
Newton hearings are held before a judge without a jury present, which is generally held to resolve serious factual issues between the prosecution and defence. ....

The Wave House TikTok post banned over lack of Pretty Little Thing ad disclosure

A TikTok post by influencers The Wave House promoting fashion retailer Pretty Little Thing has been banned after the group failed to clearly mark it as an advert.
The ruling is the first complaint upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) against the group of six influencers, set up by management company Yoke and now boasting 4.1 million TikTok followers of the social media content it creates from a mansion in Essex.
The post, seen in October, featured two men wearing leather jackets and sitting in convertible cars and two women in pink jackets with Pretty Little Thing embroidered on the back. ....

Home of the Year saw the three judges visit 21 homes across the country, but Ms Sheahan’s home was chosen as the ultimate winner.
