REDDING, Calif. – It was a big day for the City of Redding as the Downtown Circulation Project is finally finished after a year.
Market Street reopened to traffic after almost 50 years.
“Forty-nine years ago in 1972, Market Street was closed for the creation of a pedestrian mall,” said Redding Mayor Erin Resner on Wednesday’s grand re-opening.
The Circulation Project connects Yuba, Tehama, and Butte Street to Market Street. Businesses along Market Street are really excited hoping this area will attract more people to come, dine, and shop.
