The rodeo typically brings in money for the city and local business as it draws people, contestants, and visitors to Redding. Redding organizers said certain events will not be able to happen this year. The Redding Rodeo plans to put tickets on sale in March with the rodeo planned for May 13-15. Comcast said it notified Paradise that it has reached an agreement with PG&E to put cables underground. This will be a major step in improving safety for evacuations as trees fell across some roads during the Camp Fire. Paradise lobbied for Comcast and AT&T to put lines underground when PG&E decided to do it. The PG&E project is 25% complete.

Market Street reopened to traffic after almost 50 years. “Forty-nine years ago in 1972, Market Street was closed for the creation of a pedestrian mall,” said Redding Mayor Erin Resner on Wednesday’s grand re-opening. The Circulation Project connects Yuba, Tehama, and Butte Street to Market Street. Businesses along Market Street are really excited hoping this area will attract more people to come, dine, and shop.
