Beautiful, balmy blue skies lured residents and visitors to the Port Clinton beach last weekend, where they found new concrete walkways and user-friendly steps being put in place.
As usual, the Lake Erie Love sign in Waterworks Park was the place to stop for family photographs. City work crews had already made it more accommodating, with steps behind the sign making it easier to snap a photo or two. ....

PORT CLINTON - To make the area around and east of Waterworks Park s Lake Erie Love sign more accessible to visitors, the city is putting in a sidewalk and steps that lead down to the city s beach.
Mayor Mike Snider said the city noticed so many people standing on the lake side of the Lake Erie Love sign to take photos that the dirt and sand had been depleted.
Snider said Masonry Construction Co. is putting in a sidewalk around the sign area and steps that visitors can use to walk down to the beach. ....
