Ex-tax collector for Warren County towns gets 5 years in prison, must pay $925K

The former municipal tax collector for three Warren County municipalities was sentenced Friday to prison, and ordered to pay nearly $925,000 in restitution, Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said.
Rachellyn (nee Edinger) Mosher, 50, of Lopatcong Township, was the tax collector for Harmony, White and Lopatcong townships. She pleaded guilty March 24 in New Jersey Superior Court in Hunterdon County to one count of official misconduct.
A Hunterdon County grand jury had indicted her March 11 following a two-year investigation into the misappropriation of around $824,000 in property tax payments by residents of the three townships between 2013 and 2018.

Amy Locane is struggling to make sense of it all.
