The Monroe County Historical Society will retain ownership, programming and maintenance of the historic Eby Log Cabin at the Monroe County Fairgrounds under an agreement reached with the County of Monroe. The Monroe County Board of Commissioners recently approved 9-0 a memo of understanding to transfer ownership to the society of the 164-year-old cabin that recently got a much-needed facelift by the society and Amish contractors from Indiana. The accord is the culmination of nearly two years of efforts to determine the ownership status of the two-story building that was moved to the fairgrounds in 1960. Under the agreement, the county recognizes the society’s claim to ownership and through the Monroe County Museum System will provide artifacts for the building and staffing for events held throughout the year at the fairgrounds. ....

Stockbrokers amend rules to strengthen corporate governance By Itohan Abara-Laserian Lagos, April 29, 2021 The Council of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) has endorsed amendments to four rules to strengthen its corporate governance. Mr Olatunde Amolegbe, the instituteâs President, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos. Amolegbe said that the rules, which were unanimously approved during the Instituteâs hybrid AGM, include CIS Membership Rules and Regulations, 2021 and CIS Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct for Stockbrokers, 2021. Others are, Rules for election into the Governing Council of the Institute 2020, and 2019 Rules for election of the 2nd Vice President of the Institute. ....
