Minnesota Vikings Pre Free Agency Mock Draft

I am using the Consensus Big Board from NFL Mock Draft Database. It compiles all of the “Big Boards” out there and gives everyone a rating from 1 to 300. I am setting a general rule of having to pick someone realistic on the board within our pick. I like this better than some mock draft simulators because the simulators are random. I.E. if Zach Wilson is available at 14 I am picking him, but then everyone will say it is unrealistic and I would have to agree.

With today s loss to the Chicago Bears, The Vikings move to 6-8, and need the Cardinals to lose both games and the Bears to lose one of their next two, while also winning out our next two games. I wouldn t be surprised if we beat the Saints, only to lose to the Lions the next week. The Vikings playoff chances are pretty much over.
With the season now just having to be played out for draft position, I decided to start doing mock drafts to hope for the future (and also cope with a mediocre record).

The Vikings no longer control their destiny. We need to win out, and we need the Cardinals to lose one game in order to go to the playoffs. And even if we go, how many teams can the Vikings feasibly beat? And if they do, by some divine miracle, get to the Super Bowl, it s more than likely the Chiefs will be standing there, waiting for whoever the NFC representative is. And the Chiefs are going to win, regardless.
So when this team gets knocked out of the playoffs, if they even make it there, what is the situation for the off-season? I know that some people don t like talking about the off-season until we get there, but that constitutes horrible planning. If you don t come up with a plan in advance, you run the risk of being far too reactionary when things go wrong. Sunday was one of those games that is just so frustrating. We were so close to being up multiple scores early in the game, but couldn t get the play we needed to score. 3 missed FGs and 1 XP were bad, but so was our red zone offense. We played ok, but not good enough against a playoff team in Tampa Bay. We still have a chance. 3-0 is
almost a guaranteed playoff spot. 2-1 and we will need to hope Arizona loses 2 of their 3 final games. The Bears looked good on Sunday and we have them up next. WE need to have a short memory and move onto the next game or our season will be over quickly.
