PETRONILA, Texas â A brush fire ripped through a field off FM 665 and County Road 61 in Petronila.
Nueces County ESD No. 2 Fire Chief Dale Scott tells KRIS 6 News that the fire started around 4:19 pm Wednesday.
Scott said 15 fire units responded to the fire, which scorched over 10 acres.
He said the flames were blowing towards some houses but when the flames hit a plowed field the flames went around them.
it took crews about 45 minutes to get things under control.
Scott said the wind was really bad and the grass is very dry.

Charred body recovered in Jacobabad

SUKKUR: A charred body was recovered from an abandoned plot in Jacobabad on Thursday. Reports said the police recovered the body of a youth near Danghar Muhalla of Jacobabad and shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem. The police said an investigation was underway and DNA samples are being collected to get the body recognised. Meanwhile, the incident created panic and fear in Jacobabad city. The police said the accused after killing the youth set on fire his body.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A charred body of a man was found near Malik Market in the limits of Gomal University Police Station on Sunday.
The police said that they had found a burnt-out body of 36-year old man identified as Gula Khan Dotani near Malik Market on Dera Bypass road. They said that unidentified gunmen had first shot dead the man and then sprinkled kerosene oil on his body and set it on fire. The police established the identity of the slain man from the torched weapon license in his pocket.
