Anthony Montwheeler gets 25 years to life

After more than four years of court proceedings, Anthony Montwheeler on Friday pleaded guilty to charges related to a case in which he killed two people, including his ex-wife, and injured another person. He pleaded guilty to three charges, including murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree and assault in the third degree, according to a news release from District Attorney David Goldthorpe.
Following a day-long judicial settlement conference, Montwheeler pleaded guilty to some of the nine charges he initially faced. The defense requested the conference last fall, according to Goldthorpe, which is a step typically taken when the defense is willing to resolve a case. ....

Carl Ray Dyball – Fairfield

78-year-old Carl Ray Dyball of Fairfield, died on Friday afternoon, February 12 at Aperion Care in Fairfield.
Carl was born in Fairfield on August 4, 1942 to Robert and Bessie (Rush) Dyball. Carl was disabled and back then there were very few options for any kind of education, so his mother started a school for children like Carl until the public school systems developed special education classes. He was able to attend Merriam school for a while. He was also able to attend a workshop for young adults in which his mother created. This later became the Career Development Center we have today. Carl’s parents decided to have a home built where special needs adults could live and be helped with their day-to-day activities. Carl lived in various homes until the Dyball Sunshine Home was completed just off Enterprise Road in Fairfield. Many families were helped through this wonderful facility and Carl remained there until the unfortunate closing of the facility a few years ago. He r ....

The proposed Salt Creek Wind Farm project in Tama County made significant steps toward becoming a reality recently.
The Tama County board of adjustment met at 9 a.m. on Dec. 9 in Toledo where they considered and ultimately voted on 60 conditional use permits submitted by Salt Creek Wind LLC.
The permits were seeking approval of 60 sites within a 25,000 acre footprint in central Tama County that will be used to construct wind turbines for the Salt Creek Wind Farm project.
After more than an hour of presentations from Salt Creek Wind representatives, the county board of adjustment ultimately voted 4-0 in favor of the 60 wind turbine sites. ....
