78-year-old Carl Ray Dyball of Fairfield, died on Friday afternoon, February 12 at Aperion Care in Fairfield. Carl was born in Fairfield on August 4, 1942 to Robert and Bessie (Rush) Dyball. Carl was disabled and back then there were very few options for any kind of education, so his mother started a school for children like Carl until the public school systems developed special education classes. He was able to attend Merriam school for a while. He was also able to attend a workshop for young adults in which his mother created. This later became the Career Development Center we have today. Carl’s parents decided to have a home built where special needs adults could live and be helped with their day-to-day activities. Carl lived in various homes until the Dyball Sunshine Home was completed just off Enterprise Road in Fairfield. Many families were helped through this wonderful facility and Carl remained there until the unfortunate closing of the facility a few years ago. He r ....
