Lewes, Delaware 19958United States Striper Bites, a staple restaurant in downtown Lewes for the last 20 years, will soon become property of the Big Fish Restaurant Group. Big Fish President and Managing Partner Eric Sugrue confirmed during an interview March 8 that his group will be taking over the Savannah Road restaurant, which was opened by Matt and Ali DiSabatino in the summer of 2001. “Matt and I have been friends for a long time,” Sugrue said. “This whole deal happened in a friendly way. We met behind closed doors for well over a month and we worked it out. He decided to start a new chapter in his life, so he was looking for somebody to continue the legacy.” ....
Preliminary site-plan process expected to take 9 to 12 months Milton Attainable Housing is moving forward in the preliminary site-plan process to build a mixed commercial/residential development on 26 acres at the intersection of Route 16 and Country Road. Concept plans for the project, which includes 240 housing units and five acres of commercial space, were greeted enthusiastically by Milton’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Developers can begin preliminary site-plan work Milton Town Council unanimously approved two annexation requests. One of the approved parcels is this nearly 8-acre tract at the intersection of Route 16 and Union Street Extended that would be zoned C-1 commercial. Developer BBD LLC has proposed a complex with a convenience store, office space and storage facility, although those plans are still in development.
