Storm topples tree across powerlines in Butte neighborhood John Emeigh and last updated 2021-07-07 19:39:01-04 BUTTE - A Wednesday afternoon storm passing through Butte toppled part of a large tree in Uptown. A large piece of the pine tree located at Caledonia Street and Emmett Avenue fell across some power lines and started smoldering about 3:30 p.m. Some flames sparked on the downed branches before crews from Northwestern Energy cut power to the lines. SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Bronson, Iowa, man is accused of using homemade chloroform to abduct his ex-girlfriend in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Twenty-year-old Zack Smith is charged with third-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and assault while participating in a felony. He is being held on a $250,000 bond in the Woodbury County Jail. According to court documents, on June 3 South Sioux City Police was investigating a missing person report after the victim s car was found with the windows down and her purse and phone inside. The woman was later found. The Woodbury County Sheriff s Office made contact with Smith, who was a suspect in the abduction. Under post-Miranda, Smith said he hid in the back of the vehicle for over 3-hours with the intent of kidnapping her. ....
A plan to realign Highland Way and connect it to the Emmett Avenue traffic light on Nashville Road will do more than improve traffic flow. Passed by the Bowling Green City Commission on Dec. 1, a municipal order to work with property owner Sam Potter Jr. to build a new stretch of road will ultimately tie in with a commercial/residential development planned for Potterâs property and with plans to widen Nashville Road. The municipal order calls for the city to spend up to $100,000 and for Potter to donate the land needed near his 603 Highland Way property to build a stub road of about 300 feet in whatâs called the first phase of the Highland Way realignment. ....
