SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Bronson, Iowa, man is accused of using homemade chloroform to abduct his ex-girlfriend in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Twenty-year-old Zack Smith is charged with third-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and assault while participating in a felony. He is being held on a $250,000 bond in the Woodbury County Jail. According to court documents, on June 3 South Sioux City Police was investigating a missing person report after the victim's car was found with the windows down and her purse and phone inside. The woman was later found. The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office made contact with Smith, who was a suspect in the abduction. Under post-Miranda, Smith said he hid in the back of the vehicle for over 3-hours with the intent of kidnapping her.
