The Town has committed to contributing $42,988 in 2021 to what’s being called the “Regional Air Services Opportunity Fund.” The donation stems from Stony Plain’s position as a founding member and shareholder of Edmonton Global, the Edmonton Metropolitan Region’s first-ever economic development corporation aimed at attracting foreign investment to the area. The Town’s contribution will be funded using the $50,000 Economic Development and Regional Reserve budget.
