Kelly Clarkson s estranged husband has denied trying to defraud her
The Because of You hitmaker filed legal documents with the California Labour Commission in October in which she alleged Brandon Blackstock and his father Narvel s company, Starstruck Management Group, had charged her outlandish fees during her 13 years with the firm and also accused the firm of violating California Labor Code and charging exorbitant commission fees 31 January 2021
And now Brandon has filed a formal response, in which Startstruck Management have denied all the allegations and purported causes of action.
They insisted that, despite claims in Kelly s filing, they are not subject to regulation under the Talent Agencies Act because they didn t carry out their duties in California and insisted the Breakaway singer isn t entitled to any relief.
Entertainment Tonight obtained, Blackstock denies any wrongdoing in representing Clarkson.
The lawsuit between the estranged couple began in September of 2020, when Starstruck Management Group, which Blackstock s father, Narvel Blackstock, founded and where Blacktock works as a talent agent, sued Clarkson over alleged unpaid commissions totaling more than a million dollars. She fired back in a countersuit in December, alleging that Blackstock, who had served as her manager throughout their marriage, defrauded her by overcharging her over the years. She also alleged that Starstruck was not even licensed to practice in California, a violation of the California Labor Code.
