All other measured stations in Esperance are part of the national broadcaster, the ABC.
This survey – the first since March 2017 – showed that 28.0% of the surveyed audience identified the Hit Network’s Hit 102.3 as the station they listened to the most, up 2.4 points from last survey.
Triple M also climbed, up 1.0 point to 24.0%.
The ABC’s best-performing station was ABC Esperance, which was on 13.0% – a decline of 7.4 points.
In Breakfast, the Hit Network’s syndicated regional WA program with Allan Aldworth and Michelle Anderson became the new #1 show.
Allan & Michelle boasted 28.5% in Breakfast, up 5.1 points on the 2017 survey.

NOVA Entertainment’s Star 104.5 is now the station 18.3% of surveyed listeners say they listen to the most, up 1.7 points from when a survey was last conducted in October, 2019.
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), meanwhile, suffered a fall for its Hit 101.3 brand, which was down 2.0 points to 16.0%.
Its sister station, Triple M 107.7, was up slightly to 12.5%.
Last survey, Hit 101.3 was still known as 101.3 Sea FM. Since then, it has been fully folded into the Hit Network and runs the syndicated regional NSW Breakfast show.
Until recently, the Hit NSW Breakfast show featured Daniel ‘Gawndy Gawned and Ash Pollard, however Pollard decided not to return full-time from maternity leave and was replaced by radio stalwart and former 2DayFM host, Maz Compton.

Note to self, if you can’t build it, buy it.
It’s a great result, but when are we going to address the fact that regional ratings are a snapshot in time that networks plan for months for. It’s not a true reflection of the stations day to day activity for the 12 – 24 months between drinks. They literally prep for the exam… that they wrote.
