It’s a great result, but when are we going to address the fact that regional ratings are a snapshot in time that networks plan for months for. It’s not a true reflection of the stations day to day activity for the 12 – 24 months between drinks. They literally prep for the exam… that they wrote.

Abby Hopkins joins Power FM 949 Breakfast show
Grant Broadcasters has announced the replacement for Kaley Baker on Power FM 949’s Breakfast show in Nowra.
In her place at Power FM will be Abby Hopkins, who joins from Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) on the NSW Central Coast. In addition to co-hosting Breakfast alongside Andy Sands, Hopkins will also act as promotions manager.
In addition, Lachy Perry has been appointed as production manager and Workday announcer. It is his first full-time position in radio after completing an AFTRS course last year as well as work experience at KIIS and 2SER.
Peter Andrea has also been appointed as Breakfast journalist. Andrea has been chief of staff for WIN Television in the Central West of NSW and Townsville as well as deputy chief of staff at WIN in the Illawarra. Most recently he has been working in the Riverina region for the ABC.
Kaley Baker to depart Power FM 949 Breakfast show
Power FM 949 in Nowra is on the hunt for a new Breakfast announcer.
Current co-host Kaley Baker is on the move from the NSW South Coast station to take up a post at Star 101.9 in Mackay, Queensland. Both stations are owned by Grant Broadcasters.
At Star, Baker will be filling in for Rachel Zonta while she is on maternity leave.
They need a minimum of two years on air.
