ROLLA, MO. (WFIE) - Junior distance runner Jennifer Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) won a conference title and picked up two All-League honors to lead University of Southern Indiana Women’s Track & Field to a fourth-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday.
Comastri began the day with a second-place finish in the finals of the 1,500 meters, earning second-team All-Conference honors in the process. She finished the day with a first-place showing in the 5,000 meters, earning first-team All-GLVC honors and capturing her first-career GLVC Outdoor title with a time of 17 minutes, 20.07 seconds.

EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball claimed its third conference tournament title in program history with a five-set victory over Missouri S&T in the GLVC Volleyball Tournament Championship match. The last time USI won a GLVC title was 2004, a team which featured Head Coach Randi Raff.
The Screaming Eagles fought through a highly competitive match, winning in five sets, against the Missouri S&T Miners.

EAST PEORIA, IL. (WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball punches its ticket to the GLVC Tournament Championship game after sweeping the two-seeded, No. 7 UMSL Tritons. The Screaming Eagles earned their first birth to a GLVC Championship match since 2008 while seeking its first tournament championship since 2004.
En-route to its 16th win of the season, USI formed a fortress on defense, collecting 18 blocks and 56 digs. The Eagles defense, which ranks among the best in the GLVC, held the opposing Tritons to an attack percentage of .085, forcing 22 attack errors. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Men’s Track & Field had eight top-five outings including four Screaming Eagles recording NCAA II provisional qualifying marks in the 10,000 meters alone at the Jim Vargo Invitational April 9-10.
Freshman Titus Winders went out quick and maintained his pace on the way to a fifth-place finish of 29 minutes, 51.93 seconds in the 10,000m. Winders’ 10,000m time was good enough for an NCAA II provisional qualifier, puts him 19th in the nation and eighth all-time in the USI record book.

KANSAS CITY, MO. (WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Softball salvaged a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader split with host Rockhurst University Sunday afternoon.
The Screaming Eagles (6-15, 4-10 GLVC) suffered a 3-2 loss in the opener before earning a 3-1 win in the nightcap.
Freshman outfielder Mackenzie Bedrick (Brownsburg, Indiana) paced the Eagles at the plate for the day, going a combined 5-of-7 at the plate with an RBI, run scored and three stolen bases.
