A CAFÉ owner has teamed up with the newly-revamped Dorset Museum to dish up food for customers when it reopens its doors - with its delighted owner announcing jobs are now up for grabs. Todd Moffat, who runs Chesil Beach café alongside his partner Louise, is branching out his business to cater for Dorset Museum when it reopens to the public on May 28 after the completion of a £16.1m building project that started in October 2018. Mr Moffat, who also runs Taste Brasserie in Dorchester, said due to the expansion he will be hiring more staff. He said: We re looking for five new members of staff for Chesil Beach Café, including a new apprentice chef. ....

Trinity Street will be shut by Dorset Council for two nights to allow its workers to carry out maintenance works to the carriageway. The road will be shut overnight in two phases - from 8pm on Friday, April 30 until 6am on Saturday, May 1 and again from 8pm on Tuesday, May 4 to 6am on Wednesday, May 5. A temporary road closure order will be in force for five days but Dorset Council believes the road repairs will be completed by Wednesday, May 5. A public notice issued states any vehicles cannot wait or park on the road during this time and any offending vehicles will be removed by workers. ....
BUSINESSES across Dorchester reopened for the first time in months as the Government rolled out phase two of its roadmap. The second phase saw the reopening of pub outdoor spaces, non-essential retail, and hairdressers and barbers - much to the relief of many shoppers, who have been restricted to visiting Dorchester s high street shops due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was also a relief for business owners across the town including landlord Mark Bliss, who runs the Sydney Arms in Bridport Road. He said: I think the whole social side is what people have missed the most. To just be around other people is important for a lot of us. ....
