NEW YORK CITY (WABC) After a rollout that some officials admit was slow, the push is on to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19 in New York and vaccinated quickly. People have started snapping up appointments at the vaccination sites that have opened over the past couple days, and on Wednesday, two more sites are being added to the mix: one in Westchester County and the other at the Javits Center in New York City. The Javits, which functioned as a massive field hospital last spring when New York City was the epicenter of the pandemic, will now serve as a huge vaccine distribution center. ....
NY Covid-19 vaccines: SUNY Cortland to be large vaccination site Updated Jan 13, 2021; SUNY Cortland will be one of 20 coronavirus vaccination sites opening in coming days around the state, the school announced this week. As of this morning, appointments are not yet available. They will be on the Cortland County website. People can also use the state’s “Am I Eligible?” website to check both eligibility and make appointments throughout the state. This location is for people now eligible to get the vaccine. That includes people 65 and older, immune compromised people and those with certain jobs such as transit workers, police officers and grocery workers who have contact with customers. ....

As more Americans are becoming eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, more vaccination sites are starting to pop up across Central New York. Melissa DeRosa, Secretary to Governor Cuomo, announced in a Tweet Monday morning a list of new and upcoming state vaccination sites, including two in the Central New York region. The New York State Fairgrounds Expo Center in Syracuse will open as a vaccination site on Wednesday, January 13, along with Javits Center and Westchester County Center downstate.
