Republic day: ITBP jawans marched on a frozen lake with the Indian tricolour early on Tuesday.

As India celebrates its 72nd Republic Day, its jawans are joining in by hoisting flags in some of the country s most remote and inhospitable areas where they stand guard all year round, including Ladakh.
In the icy upper reaches of Ladakh, at a height of 17,000 feet where temperature stood at minus 25 degrees Celsius, the personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) marched on a frozen lake with the Indian tricolour early on Tuesday morning.

Bharat Mata ki Jai (Long live India) , chanted the men and women of the border patrol force ITBP. ....

Ladakh: On the occasion of India s 72nd Republic Day, The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) posted a special video to celebrate Republic Day. The video shows the soldiers braving the freezing sub-zero temperatures and unwelcoming conditions to hoist the national flag at Ladakh.
The nine ITBP personnel, including men and women, paraded on a frozen lake with the Indian tricolour early on Tuesday morning as the temperature recorded minus 25 degrees Celsius. The personnel, also referred to as the ITBP Himveers, were seen hoisting the flag at 17,000 feet above the sea level, chanting Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai . ....

Republic Day: CRPF Soldier Mohan Lal Killed In 2019 Pulwama Attack Gets President's Police Medal For Gallantry Posthumously

Mohan Lal who chased and fired at an explosives-laden car that rammed into a force bus in Pulwama killing him and 39 troops onboard in 2019 has been decorated with the highest police medal for gallantry on the eve of the Republic Day on Monday.
A total of 207 police bravery medals were declared by the Union government apart from 89 President s police medals for distinguished service and 650 police medals for meritorious service, as per a list published by the Union Home Ministry.
Only two police personnel have been decorated with the top category President s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) this time, CRPF s Lal and late Jharkhand Police ASI Banua Oraon. ....

More than 900 police and central armed police force (CAPF) personnel received medals, including 207 gallantry medals, on the eve of Republic Day.
Assistant Sub Inspector Mohan Lal of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who was killed in the suicide bombing attack in Pulwama on February 14, 2019, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) posthumously. Mr. Lal who was on picket duty tried to flag down the car and fired at the speeding vehicle but was killed along with 39 other personnel in the bus when the bomb exploded. Sixty-eight other CRPF personnel were decorated with bravery medals. ....
