Holding a lead for three quarters, the Pacers went into the final period with a 10-point lead, 36-26 but couldn’t hold it, and fell by a final score of 48-44. The Pacers came out hot, with Nate Geyman opening the scoring with a three-pointer and Mason Covington followed that with an inside bucket for the 5-0 early lead. Chris Bowne got Rising Sun on the board with a three-pointer, but the Pacers responded with two freethrows and a three-pointer by Ben Hicks to stretch the lead to seven. ....

The game was designated as Senior Night, and prior to the beginning of the contest, seniors Zach Stout, Nate Geyman, and Mason Covington were honored. The game itself got out of control early, as Clarksville opened up an 18-5 lead after the first period, but Switzerland County battled the entire way. In that first quarter, Switzerland County got baskets from Stout and Ben Hicks, and Bryce Wrightsman also added a freethrow. The Generals got early scoring from Jaren Starks and Dakota Capps, each of whom posted seven points in the opening stanza. ....

Thanks to nine first period points from Wrightsman, including a three-pointer and three field goals, the Pacers jumped out to a 21-4 lead after the first eight minutes of play. Freshman Jacob Williams also had an outstanding opening period, hitting a three-pointer to go along with a pair of field goals and a freethrow for eight first quarter points. In the end, Rising Sun used a big third quarter to pull away and defeat the Pacers by a final score of 49-41. Playing without starters Ben Hicks and Nate Geyman, Switzerland County got five first quarter points from Bryce Turner and a basket from Jacob Williams to post seven first period points. Rising Sun would ride its outside shooting expertise all night, posted 10 points in the opening quarter, as Chase Kuehn, Damon Carrigan, and Peyton Merica all had three-pointers and Merica also had a freethrow. ....
Turner’s 23 not enough as Pacers fall to Lawrenceburg The Switzerland County Pacer boys varsity basketball team was supposed to open its season against Lawrenceburg on Tuesday, November 24th. The Tigers advancement in the IHSAA state football tournament caused that game to be delayed, and it was finally played this past Saturday night. The young Pacer charges held firm throughout the contest and kept battling, but the veteran Lawrenceburg team slowly pulled away throughout the game, and won by a final score of 52-37. The first period was closely played, with Lawrenceburg outscoring Switzerland County by just a 13-10 margin. ....
