Restaurant Revitalization Grants available to eateries affected by pandemic

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)  Restaurant Revitalization Grants from the Small Business Administration can help local restaurants adversely affected by the pandemic, and applications will be available beginning Monday at noon.
The West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center is helping local restaurants determine their eligibility and what documents are needed to apply. It is a $28 billion program that is open for all restaurants.
“It’s all about your losses throughout, between 2019 and 2020. One thing that’s different with this is businesses that opened,” said Courtney Chipol, Regional Director for the West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center. “Restaurants, food trucks that have opened recently, can still apply for this and that’s been different. The other recovery programs weren’t like that.” ....

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, signed into law March 11 by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., equips the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to ensure Veterans have continued access to quality health care and protections against COVID-19, as well as providing needed economic relief.

ARP Tax Changes Include Credit Extensions/Expansions, Tax Relief for EIDL and Grant Recipients, and Changes to Worldwide Interest Allocation Rules
Among many other provisions, the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, makes changes to the Internal Revenue Code, including extension and expansion of COVID-19-related employment tax credits, clarification of the treatment of forgiven emergency loans and grants, and removal of a provision related to the allocation of worldwide interest expenses.

The ARP provides another expansion of the successful ERC, a fully refundable payroll tax credit for employers equal to 50 percent of “qualified wages” paid by employers beginning on March 13, 2020.
