Over the weekend, 14-year-old Zane McQuivey was taken to the hospital in critical condition after the Off-highway vehicle rolled on top of him. He later succumbed to his injuries and later died, according to Utah State Parks & Recreation.
McQuivey had been driving the vehicle in the Purple Hills area of Warner Valley when his OHV crashed and rolled over the top of him. It is believed the vehicle was traveling at slow speeds up a hill when it turned and rolled.
A passenger, now confirmed as a 38-year-old man, was also injured in the accident. He is expected to recover. ....

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah â A teenager has died from his injuries after a side-by-side UTV accident near St. George.
Between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday night, the 14-year-old was driving in the Purple Hill area of Warner Valley when the vehicle rolled.
According to Lt. Regan Wilson with Utah State Parks, the teen was going up a hill at a low speed and with a passenger on board.
St. George News reports that the UTV then landed on top of the teen after rolling.
The boy was transported by LifeFlight to a hospital in St. George in critical condition. The passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance, reportedly with only minor injuries. ....

HURRICANE Officials have identified the 14-year-old who died from his injuries on Saturday following an ATV accident.
The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation on Monday identified the 14-year-old as Zane McQuivey, of St. George.
Zane was transported by air ambulance following the ATV accident on Friday and later died on Saturday, according to Utah State Parks Lt. Regan Wilson.
His family issued a statement following his death:
Zane was a kind and happy 14-year-old boy. He was an eighth-grader at Crimson Cliffs Middle School. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and community. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support that we have received. We are thankful for the Donor Connect program so that Zane is able to continue to help others. ....

For weeks Casey Gerbich had his eye on a choice campsite at Utah’s Bear Lake State Park for the week following the Pioneer Day holiday.
But all the planning in the world wouldn’t have helped him book a site through the state’s online reservation system, administered by the outside contractor Reserve America.
Gerbich discovered the hard way that the popular park allows many of its campsites to be booked ahead of time for family reunions.
