Upjohn.BOB CHILD / AP The historic 1878 State Capitol building, with its dozens of statues and displays of historic artifacts, will soon become more-inclusive, when a plaque honoring 29 Black women suffragists of the early 20th century is cast and installed in what advocates hope to be a public celebration. It’s also a invitation to help solve mysteries, with many details on the women’s lives seemingly lost in the mists of the decades and generations. There are no available photos for a dozen of the women, all of whom were born in the 1800s. ....

(AP) The University of Connecticut has put five dorms under quarantine after an outbreak of COVID-19 that officials say may be related to several large, off-campus parties last weekend. Thirty-five positive cases had been identified on campus in the two days leading up to Friday, the Hartford Courant reported. Residents at the five dorms are able to receive meals at designated dining halls but aren’t allowed to attend in-person classes or events. Officials said the quarantine likely will last until the end of this week, when students are scheduled to leave for spring break and learn remotely the rest of the semester. ....

The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team the top-rated program in the country was stunned Friday night in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, losing 69-59 to Arizona. UConn shot poorly and faced some physical defense in a 60-55 loss against the University of Arizona. Freshman Paige Bueckers – the Associated Press national player of the year fought hard to get her 18 points. “They just tried to deny the ball and make everything hard – catches, cuts, screening defensively tried to deny everything I did,” Bueckers said. ....
