Two Detained At Gunpoint After Reported Canyon Country Assault
Two people were detained at gunpoint Thursday afternoon after two assaults were reported in Canyon Country.
Just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a possible assault with a deadly weapon on the 26800 block of Oak Avenue in Canyon Country, according to Lt. Ethan Marquez with the station.
When deputies arrived on scene, two suspects had reportedly fled in a white Dodge Durango. Shortly after that, another altercation involving a knife was reported near the Starbucks on the 26500 block of Golden Valley Road.

Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody After Castaic Traffic Stop
A murder suspect was taken into custody Friday afternoon following a Castaic traffic stop.
Around 12:30 p.m. deputies located a wanted murder suspect near The Old Road and Sloan Canyon Road in Castaic, said Lt. Ethan Marquez, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We had reports of a (murder) suspect in the Castaic area,” He said. “Units arrived and detained the person wanted for murder outside of L.A. County.”
The crime allegedly occurred in Kern County, according to law enforcement officials on scene.
Two additional people were detained however, deputies are investigating if they are connected to the possible murder, according to Marquez.
The employee reportedly suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to the hospital after being “struck in the head and knocked unconscious,” according to Lt. Ethan Marquez with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
When deputies arrived on the scene, the three suspects reportedly drove away and were apprehended on the 5 Freeway shortly after.
A handgun was found during a search of the vehicle as well, according to officials on scene.
The 21-year-old son has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism, while his mother was arrested for acting/abetting, and the juvenile was detained for vandalism.
