The CIF Southern Section and KAP7 International, Inc. announced a five-year partnership extension for KAP7 to be the official boys and girls water polo ball for all championship events.
The CIF Southern Section boasts more than 550 member schools and more than 2,800 championship playoff events. There are 255 boys and 254 girls’ varsity water polo teams that compete within the CIF-SS.
KAP7 International, Inc. will be supporting the CIF-SS with product for championship water polo events.
“KAP7 is extremely proud of our partnership with the CIF Southern Section,” said KAP7 International President Bradley Schumacher. “Their leadership during this difficult time has been tremendous and they have stayed true to their mission to find and provide opportunities for the athletes to compete.”
The Santa Clarita City Council is scheduled Tuesday to hold a special meeting to discuss a lawsuit that may put Santa Clarita voters in a position to elect their council members through district-based elections instead of the existing “at-large” method.
The lawsuit, filed by Bay Area attorney Scott Rafferty in February 2020, asked the city to comply with the California Voting Rights Act and alleges that “at-large” elections dilute the votes of Latino residents.
“I have great confidence that this community, which is a great community, has functioned very well with a very unique and wonderful citizenry,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste. “We will figure out the best way to serve the type of community that Santa Clarita is.”

Thirty years ago, I led an animal shelter in Topeka, Kansas and we were often called upon to assist when authorities raided illegal and inhumane puppy mills. These neglected, ill animals needed safe havens where they could receive treatment and ultimately be placed for adoption. We accepted this difficult and heartbreaking duty because of the compelling need to save these animals and help stem the fraud perpetrated on unsuspecting purchasers of their offspring.
The memories of the atrocities I witnessed as I worked alongside State inspectors, veterinarians, and animal welfare colleagues at these locations still haunt me to this day. The gross and callous disregard for basic animal needs and extreme suffering were unconscionable.
The Valley Industry Association is inviting residents to join their Fourth annual State of the State program, with state senator Scott Wilk and assemblywoman Suzette Valladares.
This year’s program will be moderated by Ed Masterson of SOS Entertainment and VIA’s vice chair of workforce development.
The Program will take place Jun 25 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Valencia and is expected to go from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

The California DMV have announced REAL ID applicants will require one less document to provide during the application process.
Following updated federal rules, the DMV no longer requires applicants to provide a Social Security card or W-2 to prove they have a Social Security number. Starting today, Californians can now simply provide their Social Security number.
By filling out the online application and uploading their documents, Californians can bring their confirmation code and documents to a DMV office at their convenience, even the same day, for express service, no appointment necessary. Once at a service window, it now takes less than 10 minutes to complete the REAL ID transaction.
