Sabah medical emergency teams have been deployed to the Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) in Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam and Dewan Sri Andalas, Klang to treat severe coronavirus patients waiting for beds at the hospitals.
This came after the condition of several patients at the Stadium Melawati CAC worsened while they were still waiting to be admitted to hospital.

No place for ethnic-based policies, say 3 health organisations

PETALING JAYA: There is no place for ethnic-based policies in the matter of contract officers or any other policies in the Ministry of Health (MOH), three health organisations said today.
The Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM), Persatuan Kesihatan IKRAM Malaysia (IKRAM Health) and Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) in a joint press statement said they were alarmed and concerned by a proposal to give preference to bumiputra graduates in MOH’s recruitment process.
“The suggestion by few associations in the press statement smacks of racist nuances, preferring bumiputra doctors above their colleagues in solving the problem plaguing Contract Doctors,” they said today. ....

No need to be quarantined after first dose of vaccine

THERE’S no need for those who receive the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to be quarantined before receiving the second shot.
But they will need to practise health standard operating procedures (SOPs) like wearing masks to avoid being exposed to the coronavirus before getting the second jab of the vaccine, says the Health Ministry.
“All those who received the vaccine do not need to be quarantined, but they must follow current relevant SOPs such as frequently sanitising their hands and keeping their distance from others as usual, ” the ministry’s disease control division tells Sunday Star. ....
