Now they can savor their hometown-ness with each sip of Iron City Bean, a coffee roasted in partnership with Iron City’s makers, Pittsburgh Brewing. Iron City Bean’s alcohol-free Nine to Five Blend gets slow roasted to a robust medium-dark, utilizing four different beans from Cameroon, Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil. It’s produced at the Pittsburgh-based Press House, a small-batch maker of coffees. “But all you need to know is that it ll taste like the best damn diner coffee you ve ever had,” boasts Iron City Bean’s website. “With satisfying notes of caramel, chocolate, and nougat, it s your new go-to morning brew to help you earn your go-to evening brew.” ....

The Latrobe brewery once home to Rolling Rock beer in its classic green bottles is poised to lose another iconic local brew: Iron City Beer. Pittsburgh Brewing Co. announced plans to make its popular lager at a former glass plant in East Deer. The company revealed late Wednesday it will move production from the City Brewing Co. plant in Latrobe to its own facility to be built at the shuttered PPG glass plant along the Allegheny River sometime next year. ....
