Another Winter Storm Heading into West Tennessee Wednesday & Thursday

WBBJ TV Tuesday Night Forecast Update Tuesday Night Forecast for February 16th: A winter storm warning goes into effect tonight at midnight for all of West Tennessee. Another round of snow and some freezing rain is likely Wednesday and Thursday. Six inches of snow is possible in some areas and snow could come in waves over a 36 hour period. After a record cold start to our Tuesday, we did end up seeing plenty of sunshine. Clouds will move in though tonight and some light bands of snow could show up Wednesday between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Then heavier snow is expected and maybe some ice mixing in between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday morning. Some light snow could linger into Thursday afternoon. This storm is expected to bring mostly snow, but some freezing rain is expected to mix on in late Wednesday and Thursday morning south of I-40.

Major Winter Storm to Impact West Tennessee Late Sunday into Monday

WBBJ TV Friday Night Forecast Update Friday Night Forecast for February 12th: In general, the forecast models either stayed steady or increased their snowfall forecasts for West Tennessee this evening. Due to that, we have increased our snowfall estimates across the region a bit for Sunday evening through Monday. The wind chill will be down near 10° tonight and Saturday highs will reach 30°. Sunday expect upper 20s and an evening wintry mix turning over to snow which will increase in intensity and coverage on Monday. Models are showing a thick layer of ice blanketed by several inches of snow here in Jackson. Ice totals will be highest near Hardin county and snow totals will be highest near Lake county. Ice Storm Moving into West Tennessee Tonight!

WBBJ TV Wednesday Night Forecast Update Wednesday Night Forecast for February 10th: As the temperatures continue to drop tonight, the rain we have seen so far will begin to turn over to freezing rain and ice in West Tennessee. Heavy precipitation is expected off and on until noon Thursday and 1/4″ to 1/2″ ice could accumulate across the region. The heaviest bands are expected between 2-7 AM in Jackson & Madison county. Travel is strongly discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Ice accumulations and winds will likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches that add to the danger. We will have a full in depth report coming up right here!

Ice Storm Expected to Crash Into West Tennessee Wednesday & Thursday

WBBJ TV Tuesday Night Forecast Update Tuesday Night Forecast for February 9th: An Ice Storm Warning remains in effect for Lake, Dyer, Weakley & Obion counties until noon Thursday. The ice will drift southward during the day on Wednesday and could fall in Madison county between 7 p.m. Wed. and 9 a.m. Thurs. Ice totals could be as high as 1/4″ in Jackson. Some locations north of I-40 could end up with 1/2″ of ice. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible at times Thursday morning.  Travel is strongly discouraged. Be sure to keep an extra flashlight handy at home with charged batteries and it is a must if you plan on traveling. Bring some food and water if you are going to be out in case of an emergency.  Power outages could last for more then a day in some rural areas in West Tennessee.

Rain Saturday Evening, Late Snow Chance, Next Week Could be a Mess!

WBBJ TV Friday Night Forecast Update   Clouds will continue to move in tonight and rain is expected to return Saturday afternoon. Light snow could mix in with the rain overnight into Sunday morning as some cooler air will push in. Two different storm systems will be converging over our area Saturday night making for a tricky forecast. Monday looks pretty nice, but towards the middle and end to next week, a major winter blast is expected to move into West Tennessee.
