WOOD RIVER Two Madison County deaths were among the 126 COVID-19 related deaths reported Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). The IDPH identified the deceased as a man in his 80s an a woman in her 90s. The IDPH also reported 9,277 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases. Late Thursday the Madison County Health Department reported one new COVID-19 related death, a man in his 60s, to bring the county’s virus death toll to 383. As of Thursday, the county had recorded 21,810 COVID-19 cases. ....

The IDPH listed the deceased as a man in his 70s and a woman in her 90s. On Tuesday evening, the Madison County Health Department reported three new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the countywide total of 344 so far. Details on the deceased were not immediately available. The health department also report 193 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Madison County, as well as 1,038 new tests. The three-day positivity rate was 12.66%, with a seven-day rate of 14.7% and a 10-day rate of 14.33%. ....
