Major KiwiSaver shake-up: Who s in, who s out among default providers?

The government has announced a major shake-up of the KiwiSaver default providers. Photo / File
The Government has announced a major shake-up in the KiwiSaver default provider appointments with five providers not being reappointed.
There are currently nine default providers but this shrinks to six providers under a new seven-year contract with the government.
People are allocated to a default KiwiSaver fund when they are automatically enrolled through starting a new job and don t choose their own fund.
The newly appointed providers are Bank of New Zealand, Booster, BT Funds Management (Westpac), Kiwi Wealth, Simplicity and Smartshares (NZX). ....

Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera, who represented the country in 256 international games, has reportedly announced his retirement from international cricket after being informed by the selectors that he is no longer in their plans. Perera last featured for SL in the T20Is against the Windies in March.
Veteran Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera will no longer represent the country as reports have emerged that the 32-year-old has announced his retirement from international cricket. Perera, who made his international debut back in 2009, featured for the country in the recently-concluded T20I series versus West Indies, but it is believed that the all-rounder chose to retire after being informed by the selectors that he was no longer in their plans. ....

Tata Steel UK has dragged the troubled Liberty Steel to the commercial court in the UK for failing to make the full payment for acquisition of its speciality steel product plant in 2017.
Indian-born British steel tycoon Sanjeev Gupta-led GFG Alliance through Liberty Steel had acquired then struggling plant for about £100 million with a staggered payment option.
It is reliably learnt that Liberty Steel has now missed payment to close the deal. Following this, Tata Steel has approached the UK Court to file proceedings against GFG Alliance group companies Liberty Speciality Steels, Liberty House Group PTE and Liberty Speciality Steel UK, said sources. ....
