New face, new responsibilities at Kam's Growers Supply

Kam’s Growers Supply has been hiring and expanding responsibilities for existing staff to start off 2021.
Hailey Ashbee is a published, award-winning Masters of Environmental Science graduate from the University of Guelph, with a focus on entomology. She has since been busy working with some notable Niagara growers on integrated pest management. She will primarily cover the Niagara region and will hit the ground running assisting Kam’s customers.

Steve Droog, a Kam’s sales representative since 2009, will maintain selected accounts in Niagara that he has cultivated through the years but will transition others to Ashbee. His role will be expanded into the nursery market sector, providing sales support to most of the Ontario nursery accounts. ....

If you live in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast, you’re likely very familiar with the impacts that nor’easters bring to the region. However, many in the Midwest and Plains have never experienced such an event. What is a “nor’easter” and how does it form?

The first step in the development of a Nor’easter is a buckling Polar Jet Stream. When the jet stream “buckles”, it pulls cold air equatorward into the United States and out over the Atlantic Ocean. Cold air then becomes situated over the warm Gulf Stream waters along the East Coast.
