The Fair Work Ombudsman has secured a penalty in the Federal Circuit Court against the former operator of a Gold Coast restaurant.
The Federal Circuit Court has imposed a penalty of $3396.60 against Mr Seouk Woong Hong, who formerly operated a Korean restaurant trading as Sogongdong Tofu House at Southport.
The penalty was imposed in response to Mr Hong being involved in failing to comply with a Compliance Notice requiring the back-payment of entitlements to three former employees at the restaurant.
The Court made orders allowing the penalty to be paid to the three former employees to partially rectify the underpayments, which remain outstanding. ....

The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action in the Federal Circuit Court
against the operator of a plumbing business based at Jordan Springs, in western
Sydney.
Springs Plumbing and Air Conditioning’ and ‘Jordan Springs Plumbing and

The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action in the Federal Circuit Court against the operators of an eyebrow shaping business in eastern Sydney.
Facing court are Get Plucked Holdings Pty Ltd (Get Plucked), a Woollahra-based business trading as Sharon Lee Inc. Eyebrow Atelier, and the company’s sole director, Sharon Lee Hamilton-Clarke.
The regulator investigated after receiving requests for assistance from two former workers who had been employed full-time as a receptionist and a beauty therapist respectively.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action in the Federal Circuit Court against the operator of a Sydney take-away food outlet.
Facing court is Heun Ok Kurosawa, a sole trader operating the ‘Sydney Kimbab Nara’ outlet on George Street, in the Sydney CBD.
The regulator began an investigation after receiving a request from a worker who had been employed as a kitchen assistant at the outlet for about three months last year.
