Ethical questions abound these days and some Boston College undergraduates have taken their interest in grappling with them to a competitive level. Last fall, the students participated in the regional portion of the 25th annual Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, an international organization focused on advancing scholarship, education, and practice in both areas. The BC contingent placed fifth, thereby joining teams from 35 other American colleges and universities

Students at Strode College in Street celebrated at annual awards

Strode College held their awards this month, nominating students who completed their courses last year. There were 23 categories in the awards, based on outstanding performance on courses and exceptional personal qualities. Most of those who received awards had completed A Levels and vocational qualifications last year, but there were also awards for Higher Education Student of the Year, Adult Student of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, the Rachael House Award for Skills for Life and Success Against the Odds. Katy Quinn, principal and CEO of the college in Street, said: “Whilst unfortunately unable to hold our usual annual awards ceremony due to the pandemic, we still wanted to celebrate the incredible hard work and achievements of all our students.
