McKamey Animal Center Launches New Program, K-9 to 5, Enabling Adoptable Pets In Your Workplace Tuesday, August 3, 2021 The perfect model dog, Savannah, for the new McKamey Animal Center program, K-9 to 5. Savannah is also available for adoption. McKamey Animal Center announces its newest initiative, K-9 to 5, bringing adoptable pets into offices and businesses around town to spend time and hopefully find a permanent new home. MAC K-9 to 5 partners get all of the benefits of furry friend companionship and the reward of potentially finding an adoptable pet a new home without any of the long-term commitment, said officials. MAC has had a large influx of animals come into the shelter in the last few months, as it does every summer, and currently has over 560 animals in its care. This new K-9 to 5 initiative offers a new way to showcase some of these animals and expose them to potential adopters. ....
McKamey Animal Center Hosts Record-Breaking Gala At The Chattanoogan Monday, July 5, 2021 McKamey Animal Center’s 2021 Gala attracted almost 300 attendees and raised nearly $125,000 to support its work. Featuring a “Jellicle Evening” theme inspired by the hit Broadway play Cats, the 2021 MAC gala, held at the Chattanoogan hotel on June 25 proved to be the most successful fundraiser in the organization’s history, according to officials. “The 2021 MAC Gala exceeded our wildest expectations,” said MAC Executive Director Inga Fricke. “I cannot express how grateful I am to all of our friends and supporters who came out to celebrate the lifesaving work MAC has done in the past and ensure that we are able to do even more in the future.” ....
Bonnie Joins The Catoosa County Sherriff’s Office Friday, May 21, 2021 McKamey Animal Center has helped Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office recruit a brand new team member – Therapy K-9 Officer, Bonnie. Only a few weeks ago, Bonnie, was roaming the streets of Chattanooga. A McKamey Animal Center Animal Services Officer picked her up and brought her back to the Center. After her stray hold passed, she was placed into a foster home with Damon McCook, founder of Good Citizen K-9. Mr. McCook quickly recognized the potential Bonnie had to become a therapy dog. Through partnership with Catoosa County Sherriff’s Office, Good Citizen K-9 and McKamey Animal Center, Bonnie has officially been announced as the newest addition of the Catoosa County Sherriff’s Office. ....
