Žan Košir wins Rogla snowboard World Cup event

ZreÄe – Slovenia’s veteran snowboarder Å½an KoÅ¡ir won the Snowboard World Cup parallel giant slalom event on Rogla on Saturday only days after a disappointing performance by the home favourites at the World Championships at the same venue.
In the finals, the 36-year old beat Russia’s Andrey Sobolev, who won bronze at the Championships here on Monday.
KoÅ¡ir had already secured his third World Cup podium this season by besting Italian Edwin Coratti in the semi-final. Coratti was pipped to the third spot by Pole Oskar Kwiatkowski.
This the sixth career World Cup victory and the 21st podium for KoÅ¡ir. He has never won a Rogla event before, having placed second two times and third two times at the venue before. ....

After a hard-fought PGS event that set the tone for 2021 on the FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup this past Saturday in Scuol, we’re right back to action this Tuesday and Wednesday with the first parallel slalom competition of the season, as well as the first parallel slalom mixed team event, which are set to go down at the iconic venue in Bad Gastein (AUT).
Initially the 21st edition of the FIS Snowboard World Cup event in Bad Gastein had been cancelled at the end of November due to regional circumstance of the covid-19 pandemic. However, the good news came just a couple of weeks later, after the organising committee along with the Austrian Ski Federation decided that conditions were becoming favourable to host the parallel slalom and parallel slalom team events on the original ....
