The RM700mil 5G award clincher

“The design, build and maintenance of the nation’s 5G network managed by Ericsson is estimated to cost RM11bil, around RM700mil lower than the total cost of ownership of the next closest bid, ’’ DNB said in the statement.
PETALING JAYA: The winning bid by Ericsson Malaysia for the 5G network rollout at RM11bil was RM700mil cheaper than the next lowest bid, said Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) in a statement yesterday.
In addressing concerns raised over the selection and award process, DNB said the tender selection process – which had begun in March this year – was “rigorous and competitive’’ and that was why it awarded the RM11bil contract to Ericsson to design and build the nation’s 5G network. ....

Serba Dinamik appoints EY as independent reviewer, shares jump

s share price surged to a high of 75.5 sen in afternoon trade on Monday board of directors has agreed in principle, to appoint Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd as the independent reviewer.
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Monday, it said EY will assess veracity and accuracy of the matters highlighted by the external auditors, KPMG PLT.
“An updated announcement will be made upon the finalisation of terms and conditions of the said appointment, ” it said in a statement at the midday break.
At 3.28pm, its share price was up seven sen to 67.5 sen with 854m shares done. Its warrants climbed three sen to 11.5 sen. ....

THE Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint has laid out a series of ambitious targets for the country’s digital economy, not least of which is to attract some RM70 billion in foreign and local investments into the digital economy. Notably however, the blueprint does not set out a time frame for this investment target.

BUTTERWORTH: The Sessions Court here Friday set May 28 for mention of the corruption and money laundering cases involving former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, his wife Betty Chew Gek Cheng and businesswoman Phang Li Koon.
Judge Ahmad Azhari Abdul Hamid set the date after lawyers RSN Rayer, representing Lim and his wife, and A. Ruben Kumar, representing Phang, applied to be given three months to examine the more than 1,000-page documents that were submitted when the matter came up for case management Friday.
Deputy public prosecutors Syafiq Hasim and Ashrof Adrin Kamarul appeared for the prosecution. ....

BUTTERWORTH: The defence team in the corruption and money laundering case involving former finance minister Lim Guan Eng, his wife Betty Chew Gek Cheng and businesswoman Phang Li Koon has requested more time to go through 1,000 documents handed over by the prosecution.
The documents were just served to us a few days ago.
There are 1,000 pages and we will need time to go through the documents. We need to advise our clients and take instructions from them.
There could be a constitutional challenge filed on the charges. We may also file an interlocutory application. ....
